Another 172R simulator project, mine is continually evolving as do many home built simulators. Currently based around Simkits gauges, GoFlight "avionics", and CH flight controls, the carpentry and creativity to bring it all together has been an ongoing father-son project for my dad and me. It has been as enjoyable to build as it is to fly, and continues to be as we make further tweaks and enhancements. The front monitor is an HDTV-ready set running 1920x1080i off an ATI Radeon X800-XL...

Heres some pics of my Rallye 235 simpit project. It´s based on a real Rallye 892-a fuselage that I got my hands on in November 2003. The interiour is going to be painted and fixed up as soon as I get my hardware to work as I want them. A radio stack and a videoprojector is next thing on the wishing list. The plane was laying around overgrown by tall grass since 1995, when it was blown over upside down and badly damaged. And taken out of use that same year...

This 172 based panel was built using SIMKITs gages and the CCU board. The panel was designed to be portable as it is used for schools youth aviation programs. It uses a DUAL DVI graphics card to support the 15 inch LCD displays. To avoid a large gap between the displays they were removed from their housings and remounted as seen in the photos...

When I started to take flying lessons to get my Private Pilot License I also started building my Cessna 172 simulator. Objective is to make the simulation experiance as real as the flights I make in real life. Maybe one day, in 30 years or so when I am retired and have a lot of time, Simkits can provide us with a holodeck which would make that possible...

My name is Audie Sellars, I live in North Yorkshire England and I too have been hit by the flight simulator bug, I have had a couple of flying lessons in a Cessna 150 Airobat, but can not justify spending £10,000 on the ppl and another £30 to £40,000 on a Cessna. I purchased Microsoft flight simulator 2004 and used this on my computer, but having flown the real thing...

The project start date is difficult to say, but I suspect that it was in about year 2001 when I got a CH Products yoke and a GoFlight radiomodule. Next big step was the discovery of the FSbus project that enabled me to hardwire switches and other functions. But it wasn't until I found the Simkits webpages when this thing really got out of hand...

This cockpit started 6 months ago, when I purchased a couple of goflight modules. From that I added gauges from Simkits and an xkeys keyboard encoder. Added some VB code and freefd and here it is, a general purpose simulator...
