This 172 based panel was built using SIMKITs gages and the CCU board. The panel was designed to be portable as it is used for schools youth aviation programs. It uses a DUAL DVI graphics card to support the 15 inch LCD displays. To avoid a large gap between the displays they were removed from their housings and remounted as seen in the photos.
The controls were hand made. This includes the YOKE control. This YOKE control has servos to control the restore to center force, making the YOKE feel much more realistic.
The SERVO controller is based on a BASIC STAMP chip and a program that measures RPM and AIR SPEED (directly from the SIMKITs gages) to set the restore force.
The last photo is the simulator at a museum air show. This simulator was used with another SIMKITs based simulator we built for WINGS of HISTORY MUSEUM. The two simulators hosted about 140 kids in a single day.
